At the invitation of both Changjiang Weekly and Changjiang Daily, 15 foreign students from six universities visited the Optics Valley International Tennis Center on September 11, 2017.
In 2019, it will serve as the tennis venue for the 7th World Military Games (WMG). This massive tennis facility, which is located to the north of the Wuhan-Huangshi Expressway, to the east of Third Ring Road, and to the west of the Hubei Olympic Sports Center, was originally constructed to serve as the venue for the Wuhan Open, a WTA Premier 5 tournament.

The tennis center contains three magnificent stadiums with 15,000, 5,000, and 3,000 seats respectively. Our visitors toured the 15,000-seat stadium which was completed in 2015.
The group learned about the structure of the stadium, walked into the player's area, the media center and the press conference room.
Hanging on the walls along the alley in the interior area of the stadium are some photos of the famous players who have competed in the Wuhan Open tournament. This event, in its three-year history, has already attracted female tennis stars like Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Petra Kvitova. An adult- height poster of Petra Kvitova, winner of both the 2014 and 2016 Wuhan Open, captured the excitement of the students and served as a great photo opportunity.
There is an exhibition room where the trophies of champions and runner-ups are on display. The visitors enjoyed the close-up view of the trophies.
Roy Khan, a foreign student from Pakistan, inquired about the ticket purchasing information during his visit, and learned that the students could enjoy a 50- percent discount. After that, he purchased tickets to the matches on September 28, quarterfinal day, and September 30, final day. Wuhan Open's official website http://www.4008702014.com/ is available for anyone who still wishes to purchase tickets.
