Since the opening of the national two sessions, Wuhan's East Lake has become the focus of government media.Last week, journalists from eight government media, including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and CCTV, formed an interview delegation.

They paid visits to the East Lake Greenway to do a series of in-depth interviews of its ecological civilization construction. This is the largest focused report of the East Lake Greenway by the government media since its completion.

Distinctive scenic spots

Here are some distinctive scenic spots along the route of the interview delegation. Which one do you think is the most amazing aspect of East Lake?

•Mai Ma Posthouse & Peach Blossom Island
The meandering greenways and grassy lawn was an abandoned freight yard two years ago. During its ecological restoration , the designers divided the area into Peach Blossom Creek, Peach Blossom Dock and Peach Blossom Forest based on the different terrains with the area. The whole area has now become an international public art park through garden landscaping.

•Overseas Chinese Town Wetland Park
The park was transformed from an artificial lake farm. After years of maintenance and renovation, it has now developed into a harmonious natural area.

As the CCTV's report shows, East Lake was once a sewage treatment plant of the surrounding areas. Its water quality was as low as category V at that time. However, the water quality of 82 percent water coverage of East Lake has now reached category Ⅲ, which is claimed to be its best level in the past four decades.

•Define Deer at Discovery
At the West Posthouse of Ma'anshan Forest Park, a bookstore named Define Deer at Discovery faces onto water and mountains.

Shortly after its opening, it earned fame as one of the most beautiful bookstores in China. People can have a relaxing leisurely time here, reading books, having coffee and enjoying picturesque scenery.

•Sailing and Open-water venues
As one of the main venues of the 7th CISM World Games, East Lake will hold four major competitions, including the sailing competition. After completion, the sailing venue will be the largest and most environmentally friendly one in China's hinterland and inner lakes.

Enjoy your spring there!
