On May 17, Wuhan Executive Commission signed a contract with Dongfeng Motor Corporation on the latter’s partnership for the 7th CISM World Games. Dongfeng will support the Games with its automobiles, including unmanned vehicle which will be available to Wuhan citizens.

“Dongfeng is a state-owned enterprise based in Wuhan. It’s our responsibility to serve the Games,” said AN Tiecheng, Party committee member and Vice President of Dongfeng at the signing ceremony. The company takes it as a great honor to support the event to be held in the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and the 50th anniversary of Dongfeng.

Since its birth, Dongfeng has been closely related to China’s military. It has offered over 400,000 military vehicles to the national defense in half a century. About one third of in-service vehicles are from Dongfeng.

It is learnt that Dongfeng’s Sharing-VAN, China’s most advanced unmanned vehicle will be on trial operation during the Games. Wuhan citizens may be surprised by the “magic vehicle” that has no wheel, accelerator and brake pedal.

The Games will be an ideal window to China’s state-owned enterprises in the new era, and to China’s brands. Dongfeng vehicles and technicians will give support to the torch relay and security. More support includes DF-Go new-energy shared cars provided for local citizens, athletes and reporters, and Dongfeng new-energy passenger coaches, cars and sanitation trucks.    【By WU JIE】
