The First Simulated Emergency Drill for the 7th CISM Military World Games is Held

On July 29, the first simulated emergency drill for the 7th CISM Military World Games (7th CWG) was held in Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering. ZHANG Dongfeng, Deputy Secretary General of the Executive Commission who was present at the drill, said that such activities will be continuously held in the future to improve the joint prevention and action level as well as emergency handling capacity of all Competition Management Committees.
The working staff of Wrestling Competition Management Committee which is composed of members mainly from Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering took part in the drill. In the simulated emergency drill, scenario simulation was applied with possible emergencies designed according to sports features. The 46 staff members were divided into 4 groups which respectively went to 4 drill sites isolated from each other to deal with the simulated emergencies in the given scenario within 10 to 15 minutes. The involved staff responded quickly, communicated in time and handled the situation properly, after which they went back to the main venue to review and draw lessons from the drill under the guidance of the third-party risk management team for the 7th CWG.
The drill was organized by Wuhan Executive Commission, on the scene of which managers of General Affairs Dept. and Competition Dept. were present to give instructions. Relevant responsible persons of the Athletes’ Village Operation & Management Committee and Competition Management Committees also showed up to watch the drill which was broadcasted in real time. Attendees in the main venue watched the drill through the live footage for interaction. When concluding the drill, SUN Meihua, Deputy Director of Wrestling Competition Management Committee and Vice-principal of Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering said that the Committee will further improve risk management and assessment, and make reasonable and effective emergency plans for the games based on the drill.
Next, the General Affairs Dept. of Executive Commission will organize experts and relevant games-time institutions to carry out targeted scenario simulations in 38 Competition Management Committees, so as to improve the joint prevention and action level as well as emergency handling capacity of all Competition Management Committees.
