“Welcome to Wuhan for the 7th CISM Military World Games”, “Gather in River City Wuhan for the 7th CISM Military World Games”... On August 22, after review and final evaluation, 197 pieces of excellent calligraphy works with the theme of the 7th CISM Military World Games (7th CWG) were selected from more than 5,000 pieces of works nationwide, and will soon make public at the National Calligraphy Exhibition for the 7th CWG.

The collection of works for the Calligraphy Exhibition is hosted by the Executive Commission of the 7th CWG, Hubei Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and is organized by Hubei Calligraphers Association, Wuhan Calligraphers Association, Calligraphic Art Weekly and Hubei Museum of Art. From April 28 to July 31, 2019, a total of 4,912 pieces of works were received from all over the country. With the works of invited calligraphers, the total number exceeds 5,000.

The evaluation committee, consisting of XU Benyi, Chairman of Hubei Calligraphers Association, HUANG Delin, Chairman of Wuhan Calligraphers Association and other experts in calligraphy, strictly reviewed and finally selected 197 pieces of works for the exhibition in accordance with content, quality, style and other evaluation criteria.

According to LI Rong, Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, there are many excellent works by famous calligraphers, and one works by the Chinese in New York, USA. Most of the works are themed by the 7th CWG, with a strong sense of the times and a high artistic level.
