The first “Wuhan Bookshelf” appeared on August 14 in Xinhua Bookstore on Jianghan Road, where over 1,000 books related to the city are available for readers to read and purchase.

Guided by an expert book list issued by Wuhan Publishing House, "Wuhan Bookshelf" includes books that reflect local culture and life in Wuhan from local writers, thereby making itself a window to promote Wuhan and help people learn more about the city. The bookshelf about Wuhan in Xinhua Bookstore on Jianghan Road currently includes over 200 kinds of books by well-known Wuhan scholars and writers such as Liu Xinglong, Chi Li, Fang Fang, Zhang Zhihao and Dong Hongyou. The books will be constantly supplemented and updated in the future.

The "Wuhan Bookshelf" will also be replicated and promoted in other public cultural venues, including schools, communities, parks and squares. (By Zhou Manzhen)
