Artist Zhang Zengzeng's solo exhibition "Chang Jiang Chang Jiang (长江长江)" opened at the Wuhan Art Museum on March 30.
Zhang's art installation on exhibit is composed of over 300 bowls that he collected from old streets and construction sites in Wuhan. The bowls are placed on a 25-meter-long table. On top of the table is a water tank with water from the Yangtze River. Dripping water from the tank evaporates at the moment when it makes contact with the bowls.
In Zhang's view, the Yangtze River is the mother river that nourishes people who live on its shores. Zhang said that this work explores the relationships between the city and water, the city and art, and art and life by means of different forms of water dripping into the bowls.
